Your Opinion: Strained Resource Center Righting Self

BOSTON —
As the executive director of the statewide coalition of more than
60 sexual assault and domestic violence organizations, I am all
too familiar with the strains and constraints facing these agencies
as they strive to provide the best possible advocacy and support
with dwindling funds and resources.
The June 21 profile of the turnaround taking place at Brockton
Family and Community Resources (BFCR) is an example of such an effort.
BFCR has and continues to provide essential services for victims.
They also offer tremendous leadership in the southeastern region
and on the state and national levels.
Jane Doe Inc. supports BFCR’s efforts to implement a solid,
sustainable and survivor-centered reorganization that will allow
them to remain focused on the critical needs of their community.
We hope the community will join us in rallying behind and supporting
them during this transition and into the future.
