What We Do

"Throughout the years being an active member of Jane Doe Inc. has given me the opportunity to participate in many activities to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as the opportunity to improve my professional skills attending trainings and webinars. The tremendous impact we make as part of the Jane Doe coalition is unmeasurable for every agency, advocate, client and community member." ~ Claudia Segura - JDI Coalition Member and Advocate

Events on Behalf of JDI

Thanks so much for your interest in raising money to donate to JDI.  Sometimes called third-party fundraisers, we prefer the more casual term EOBO for events on behalf of JDI.

Over the years JDI has been fortunate to receive support through a variety of creative fundraisers: yoga retreats, jewelry and clothing sales, restaurant dinners, houseparties, cell phone drives, store openings, athletic events, and more.

We look forward to hearing what you have in mind. Please fill out and submit this form describing the event. If possible, include any materials you have developed for the event and/or samples of what you plan to sell, information about past events you’ve organized, and so on.

We will review your plan and get back to you with approval to designate Jane Doe Inc. as the beneficiary. We’ll consider message, promotion, and function to ensure that what you have planned is consistent with the values and strategies of JDI. Until you receive our approval, you cannot use JDI’s name to raise money.

A few things to keep in mind:

• JDI does not get involved in the planning or execution of EOBOs. We do want to know what’s happening in advance so that we can coordinate regarding outreach and our participation.

• JDI cannot make any financial investment, pay for, or reimburse any expenses incurred as a result of an event on behalf of JDI. This means you must pay all expenses prior to remitting the net proceeds to JDI.

• If your event involves a raffle or other type of gambling activity, or if you plan to sell or serve alcohol at your event, you may be required to obtain a license from the appropriate state or local government agency.

If you are already working with one of JDI’s sixty member organizations, we urge you to continue providing them with your support. If you don’t have a relationship with the local program, we’d be happy to introduce you.

We are excited to learn more about your plans and to support your efforts to help end sexual assault and domestic violence. Please contact JDI Development office at 617 248 0922 or e-mail us with any questions or requests.
