The LARC Hotline: The Legal Advocacy and Resource Center, Inc. (LARC) is seeking an attorney to help staff our free legal hotline. LARC operates a legal hotline which is staffed by attorneys, paralegals and volunteers. Elder Protective Service Worker - Ethos

Receive referrals of elders at risk, providing consultation and intake. Complete comprehensive assessments. Assess the elder's current situation and needs, understanding the presenting problem, risks involved with elders living in the community and elders’ capacity to make decisions. Receive reports of elder abuse and self-neglect, providing intake and consultation services. Investigate reports of elder abuse. Provide problem-focused, goal oriented, short-term casework/counseling interventions to at-risk elders and elders determined to be suffering from a reportable condition of abuse.

DUTIES:

Qualifications:
1. Ability to speak Chinese is a plus.
2. A Masters degree plus at least one year of experience in counseling, casework, or case management preferably in a Protective Services or crisis intervention capacity; OR Bachelors plus at least two years experience.

Manager of Counseling & Hotline - Boston Area Rape Crisis Center

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center is looking for a new team member. The Manager of Counseling & Hotline is responsible for ensuring high-quality service through the management of the Counseling & Hotline programs. The Counseling program provides short term individual, couple, and family counseling to 300 survivors of sexual violence and those who support them in English & Spanish. It also provides groups at BARCC and in natural settings. The Hotline is a 24 hr program that has 40 trained volunteers answering over 3,000 calls per year.

The Manager will provide clinical & management supervision to 2 counselors, the Hotline Coordinator, and clinical interns, and management supervision to the Program Assistant. They will work with the Clinical Director to develop new clinical programs for clients. They will also provide direct services to clients.

The ideal candidate must have a LICSW and a minimum of 7 years of clinical experience, including individual and group experience. They must also have a minimum of 3 years experience supervising clinicians and non-clinicians and managing a program. Experience working with volunteers, or paraprofessionals, necessary. Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma and knowledge of sexual violence issues highly desirable. Bilingual candidates will be given preference. The Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK) is currently seeking a part-time ESOL teacher for our Life Skills/ESOL Program.

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday

Roles and Responsibilities: The role of the Life Skills/ESOL Program Teacher is to teach ESOL to ATASK clients with the focus on practical skills necessary to live in the U.S. society to promote their independence. Our Mission: The Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK) was founded in 1992 to
address the inadequate resources available to Asian domestic violence victims. Our mission is to
eliminate family violence and to strengthen Asian families and communities. Since 1994, ATASK has

Position Description: The full-time Grant Writer will be an essential part of a 3-person Development

foundations.

• Identify, write and submit proposals and reports for government, foundation and corporation grants.

Lowell Outreach Coordinator - The Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence

Roles and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of Director of Education and Outreach and working closely with the advocates, the Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for networking and building collaborative partnerships with the Lowell Police Department and the community on behalf of the Asian Task Force. S/he will also be responsible for Cambodian outreach, trainings, and educational workshops as well as participate in general outreach activities. In addition, the Outreach Coordinator will assist with the daily administrative operations of the Lowell Project.

This full-time exempt position is a member of the senior management team and reports to the Executive Director. This position also supervises 1 full-time and 1 part time staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND CHALLENGES:
Finance
• Work closely with the Executive Director and Finance Committee to design and implement financial strategies consistent with the organization’s strategic direction
• Oversee annual planning and budgeting in coordination with management staff
• Financial forecasting and long-term finance planning (operating, capital, investment) to ensure organizational health and appropriate financial reserves
• Design and maintain appropriate internal control procedures
• Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Annual audit preparation; primary contact for annual audit
• Supervision and review of bookkeeping staff; account reconciliation
• Prioritize and manage accounts payable, including preparing requisitions and checks
• Manage banking accounts and relationships
• Manage organization’s spending within parameters of budget, including tracking of restricted fund use in accordance with donor designations
• Recommend to Executive Director and Finance Committee changes to spending or organizational structure based on actual revenue receipts and forecasts

Human Resources
• Manage benefits, liaise with providers
• Research and recommend changes to benefits and policies to Executive Director as necessary
• Act as ‘go-to’ person for employees with questions/issues regarding benefits and employment
• Serve as the Affirmative Action and Disability officer
• Communicate with Executive Director all logistical/documentation aspects of new hires and disciplinary action up to and including terminations
• Design systems to strengthen internal controls and systems for communication and record keeping.

Contracts and Insurance and Risk Management
• Monitor and recommend changes to On The Rise’s insurance coverage to ensure adequate risk management
• In conjunction with Executive Director, oversee systems and policies to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including insurance and reporting
• Establish & maintain effective relationship with On The Rise’s pro-bono legal firm
• Maintain contract/correspondence files on all vendors engaged by On The Rise
Other:
• Like all OTR employees, the Director of Finance and Administration will be flexible and open to “pitching in” as needed with other duties that arise in the course of a 13-employee organization’s operations

Child and Family Services Coordinator - The Second Step

Background: The Second Step (TSS) seeks to break the cycle of domestic violence, one family at a time, by providing services to women and their children that enable them to remain free from abusive relationships and lead productive lives. The women who enter our program have already successfully taken the first step away from domestic violence; we provide and connect them with a broad range of services/referrals including transitional housing, job training and placement, legal services, parenting support, and psychological counseling.

Primary Objectives:
The Child and Family Services Coordinator is responsible for establishing and creating a supportive educational and emotional environment for residents of The Second Step and The Louis Garfield House. As part of that role, s/he will assess children who enter TSS and work with their mothers to ensure that they receive needed services. When a family moves out of The Second Step, s/he will help the parent make the necessary transitions for their children to the new communities. S/he will also assess each woman’s parenting skills and work with them to provide the services needed to enrich those skills.

Hours: Typically 9-5, 4 days a week, 12-8 one day with flexibility needed

Primary Duties include but are not limited to:
• Case management including child assessment and child goal plan development in collaboration with mothers
• Collaboration with Residential Program Director, Case Management and Afterschool team members for effective case management
• Liaison and advocacy with community service providers to secure resources and provide services for children/families including: day care, camp, school, after-school, parent education, counseling, medical, legal and dental care.
• Stabilization services for children up to 6 months after they transition out of the program.
• Participation in on call rotation every 6 weeks.
• Scholarship/grant applications to secure services for children

Case Manager - The Second Step

The agency is in the process of reorganizing staff roles to best address family needs and synchronize with priorities established by funding sources and domestic violence and homelessness best practices/trends. Some aspects of this position are to be determined, in part, based on who is hired.

Hours: Full-time 40 Hours a week. Roughly 9-5. The point is to connect with the families.
Primary Objectives: The Case Manager is responsible for supporting families as they move beyond abuse to rebuild their lives and create their futures. The Case Manager is expected to implement case management tasks within the philosophical framework of the agency - advocacy stance, trauma-informed perspective, nurturing while holding families accountable.
Case Management tasks can be divided into three areas: case management, documentation and projects.

Case management: tasks include developing and implementing service plans with families, that address their lives holistically, including: career, medical, legal, financial literacy, educational, daycare, school, afterschool and mental health needs. Services will be delivered through a combination of home and office visits. The Case Manager is also actively involved in networking with community service providers to locate programs and resources that facilitate families. This position participates in an On-Call rotation.

Documentation: The Case Manager is expected to keep case records current, maintain data, submit routine reports for funding agencies and correspond with internal and external contacts.

Projects: On occasion, the Case Manager will be requested to participate in agency projects.

Walk for Change Coordinator - The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center is looking for a new team member. The Walk for Change Coordinator is responsible for organizing the Walk for Change to reach goals for participation and fundraising.The Walk for Change is an annual event designed to raise awareness about sexual assault and rape and provide necessary funds in support of BARCC’s mission.

In 2008, the walk raised over $85,000 from 700 walkers. In 2009, the goal for the walk is $125,000 from 1,250 walkers.

The Coordinator’s major responsibilities include:

Partner Contact Coordinator - Emerge

Emerge is a Cambridge based Batterer Intervention Program that runs groups for abusive/violent men. We are required by DPH to attempt phone contacts with partners/ex-partners of group members enrolled in our 40 session program.

The Coordinator job has three parts:
1. Direct contact with battered women by phone in our office.
2. Training and supervising other people who are doing partner contacts either at home or at the Emerge office.
3. Managing a small database to track these partner contacts

This person should have at least 2 years experience working with battered women. The hours of this fee-for-service job range from 6-15 hours based on the number of intakes in our program. The Coordinator needs to spend a minimum of 6 hours at the Emerge office each week.

We are looking for women to do partner contacts with current and ex-partners of clients of our program. This person must have at least 1 years experience working with battered women, and be comfortable making phone contacts which may last up to 2 hours.
