Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in being a voice for change by volunteering at Jane Doe Inc.

Due to the nature of our work at the Coalition level, most meetings and volunteer activities take place on weekdays during regular business hours.

If you’re interested in volunteering on a more regular basis, or during evening or weekend hours, we encourage you to contact one of the Coalition’s domestic violence and sexual assault member organizations throughout Massachusetts. To find an organization in your area, click here.

Volunteer Opportunities at Jane Doe Inc.:

Public Policy:
Whether you can join us in person or join our advocacy efforts from afar, your voice will make a difference.

  • Advocacy Alerts – sign up to receive updates on important policy issues. We'll include information on how to contact your elected officials regarding current legislation and budget items.

  • Advocacy Events - in the Spring Jane Doe Inc. holds it annual advocacy day at the State House in Boston. We need volunteers to help plan and produce this event. We also need volunteers to participate.


Public Relations:
Getting the word out about JDI and our work is essential to our success as advocates for social change. Volunteers help us maximize traditional and social media opportunities to generate interest and participation in JDI's key efforts - from advocacy alerts to public events such as trainings, fundraisers and community actions.

 

Fundraising:
We rely on the generosity of our individual, corporate and foundation supporters to keep the work of JDI going strong. You can help in several ways:

  • Annual Fundraising Event - we're getting ready for our next event. Stay tuned for details. Volunteers help with outreach, ticket sales, publicity, sponsor solicitations, and more. Our last event was in honor of our 30th Anniversary!

  • Events on Behalf of Jane Doe Inc. - you can create your own event - from a houseparty to a pledge event. Fill out this form and let us know what you have in mind. Check out what other people have done to support JDI!

  • Fundraising Support - help with office administration and event production and promotion

  • Development Committee – helps develop long-term strategies to meet revenue needs to support Coalition’s activities and solicit donations through individual giving, corporate and foundation support and events.

 

Jane Doe Inc. occasionally needs volunteers to help out at one-time events.

Jane Doe Inc. also has several internship opportunities in the areas of public relations, government affairs, research, and education. Interns generally make commitments of at least ten hours per week (during regular business hours) for at least three months.
