Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in being a voice for change by volunteering at Jane Doe Inc. At the Coalition level, we have volunteer opportunities in the areas of fundraising and public policy. Volunteer committees meet on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis. Due to the nature of our work, most meetings and volunteer activities take place on weekdays during regular business hours.

If you’re interested in volunteering on a more regular basis, or during evening or weekend hours, we encourage you to contact one of the Coalition’s domestic violence and sexual assault member organizations throughout Massachusetts. To find an organization in your area, click here.

Volunteer Opportunities at Jane Doe Inc.:

Fundraising:
We welcome the participation of community members on our standing committees:

  • Gala Committee – plans our annual Spirit Awards Gala
  • Development Committee – helps develop long-term strategies to meet revenue needs to support Coalition’s activities and solicit donations through individual giving, corporate and foundation support and events

Jane Doe Inc. occasionally needs volunteers to help out at one-time events. We also work with individuals who want to create their own event to benefit Jane Doe Inc.

Public Policy:
We invite you to add your voice to further public policy that promotes safety and justice for survivors and holds offenders accountable for their crimes.

  • Advocacy Alerts – sign up to receive updates on important policy issues and directions on contacting your elected officials regarding current legislation and budget

Jane Doe Inc. also has several internship opportunities in the areas of public relations, government affairs, research, and education. Interns generally make commitments of at least ten hours per week (during regular business hours) for at least three months.
