WHAT:  Jane Doe Inc. will present theDelahunt Award for Extraordinary Public Service to Mayor Thomas M. and First Lady Angela F. Menino

WHO:    Hundreds will gather to honor Mayor and Mrs. Menino including former Congressman William Delahunt, Jerry Rossi of The TJX Companies, Jim Klocke of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, Anne Marie Delaney of the Family Justice Center, Cheng Imm Tan of the City’s Office of New Bostonians and founder of the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence, Dr. Barbara Ferrer of the Boston Public Health Commission, Sandra Belhaimer of Neighborhood Health Plan, and more.

WHEN:   Thursday,November 21, 2013 at 5:30 PM

WHERE: Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, Oval Room in Boston, MA

WHY:   Sexual and domestic violence affects all of us – in our homes, our schools, our neighborhoods and our workplaces. Whether co-founding Mayors Against Gun Violence with New York’s Mayor Bloomberg, establishing one of the first municipal workplace domestic violence policies, supporting safety for the LGBQ/T communities, supporting the creation of the first domestic violence program in New England to primarily serve the Asian communities, helping to launch Employers Against Domestic Violence in Boston, coming to the rescue after the shelter at Elizabeth Stone House was destroyed by fire, and so much more…Mayor and Mrs. Menino know that sexual and domestic violence is everyone’s business.

Jane Doe Inc. is thrilled to recognize their lifetime commitment to supporting those in need, making a difference in our communities and being advocates to both prevent and end sexual and domestic violence.  Their tireless efforts on behalf of Jane Doe, our Boston member programs and hundreds of thousands of victims and survivors have been nothing short of astounding.
