In response to the soaring numbers of domestic violence homicides in Massachusetts, Jane Doe Inc. created a public service announcement (PSA) featuring First Lady of the Commonwealth Diane Patrick. The PSA has been running on television and radio stations since October 2008 and will start running in movie theaters across Massachusetts on May 29. You can read more about the story behind the PSA.

Daily headlines of domestic violence, rape, stalking and related murders make clear the prevalence and pervasiveness of these crimes. That means there are too many of our family members, friends, coworkers or patients who are living in fear because of a current or past relationship.

Domestic violence programs are there to help. They can answer your questions, offer a range of free and confidential services and help you figure out what’s right for you or someone you care about.

It's really normal to sweep these concerns aside, hope that the fear will pass and believe it can’t get worse.

Trust your gut. Talk to someone who can help.

24 hours a day you can pick up the phone and call your local domestic violence program, the statewide hotline SafeLink at 1-877-785-2020 or one of the other programs click links above.

Jane Doe Inc. acknowledges the support of the Massachusetts Department
of Public Health and Massachusetts Department of Children & Families in
the creation and distribution of this public public service announcement.
