Honored Guest Speaker:
DIANE PATRICK
First Lady of the Commonwealth
When her husband was running for Governor, First Lady Diane Patrick bravely spoke out for the first time about the fear of violence she felt in her first marriage and pledged to address these issues during his Administration. In the past twenty months, Mrs. Patrick has traveled across the Commonwealth speaking out about domestic violence and sexual assault and its solutions.
Given the increased number of domestic violence homicides in Massachusetts, Mrs. Patrick has teamed up with Jane Doe Inc. to find new ways to reach domestic violence and sexual assault victims – and those around them – and to send a public message that everyone’s attention and action are needed to put an end to this violence. A Public Service Announcement featuring Mrs. Patrick will be launched at our Anniversary Celebration.
Mrs. Patrick has a record of excellence and distinguished professional and public service – as a lawyer, teacher, mother and active member of her community. Currently a partner at Ropes & Gray, she combines her passion for justice with her background in law to address the needs of various communities. In addition to being a Board Member of Jane Doe Inc., she also serves on the Boards of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and the Posse Foundation.
Since January 2008, 17 women, 2 men and 4 children have been murdered in domestic violence homicides in Massachusetts.
1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually assaulted by the age of 18.
JDI's member organizations provide lifesaving services to more than 45,000 people each year. |

Thirty years ago advocates and activists in Massachusetts and across the country started speaking out against rape, sexual assault, domestic violence and violence against women.
Thirty years later every state and territory has a coalition like Jane Doe Inc. that bridges the life-saving services of local programs with state and national policy, promotes best practices, conducts research, and provides education and training.
Jane Doe Inc. works with our sixty member organizations to ensure the safety, dignity and liberty of victims and their children, to hold offenders accountable and to promote effective prevention.
For thirty years we have held true to our mission: being guided by the needs of survivors to create a world free of violence and abuse.
Help us celebrate our accomplishments and remain a catalyst for change into the future.
