Jane Doe Inc. awards $10k in empowerment grants to sexual and domestic violence agencies

WORCESTER, Massachusetts — Jane Doe Inc. will present economic empowerment grants totaling $10,000 to 11 sexual and domestic violence agencies.

The grants will be used to help survivors of sexual and domestic violence pursue education, job training and small business opportunities.

The grants were made possible with support from The Allstate Foundation.

Since 2012, Jane Doe — a coalition of 60 local member programs working to help survivors of sexual and domestic violence — has distributed 41 grants totaling $30,000 in Massachusetts.

The 2015 grants will be given out Tuesday at the Worcester Chamber of Commerce. Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito will speak, along with representatives of Jane Doe and two abuse survivors who received grants.
