Massachusetts White Ribbon Day 2012

The 5th Annual Massachusetts White Ribbon Day Campaign is off to a great start! Co-Chairs Angelo McClain, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Paulo Pinto, MPA, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers launched the campaign on the 22nd anniversary of the massacre of 14 women in Montreal and the 20th anniversary of the international White Ribbon Campaign. Over the next few months McClain and Pinto will work with JDI to recruit men and boys across the Commonwealth to join them in taking this pledge, step up and be part of the solution in ending men’s violence against women. Craig Norberg-Bohm, JDI’s Men’s Initiative Coordinator, joined Malcolm Astley, whose daughter Lauren (age 18) was murdered by her boyfriend this past summer, to talk about prevention on the MountWachusett Community College radio series called "Freedom Means."Tune into to WPKZ 105.3 FM (Fitchburg) on both Sunday February 5th and 12th at 8:30 AM!
