JDI makes global connection to end violence against women

EGYPT:

In June 2013, JDI's Policy Director Maureen Gallagher traveled to Egypt as a Fellow through Hands Along the Nile (HANDS).  She reflected on the activism to end women’s oppression and advance women’s rights.

What's Happening

"Educating our communities and elected officials about the needs of survivors in our local cities and towns requires year round focus. JDI is our pathway to informing and influencing the state and national agenda to end sexual and domestic violence." ~ Karen Cavanaugh, JDI board member and Executive Director of Womanshelter/Companeras, pictured here with a JDI delegation meeting with Congressman Niki Tsongas

What's Happening

JDI has been busy this summer - from policy work to meeting football fans at our info table at Patriot's Training Camp. We are continously advocating for the rights and safety of everyone in the Commonwealth and across the country.

Here's a quick look at past activities.   Visit our photo gallery too!

And check out events being sponsored by JDI Member Programs and our allies on our "Calendar of Events."

Jane Doe Inc.'s Annual Massachusetts White Ribbon Day Campaign is always celebrated on the first Thursday in March - so mark your calendars now for Thursday, March 3, 2016.

This year’s White Ribbon Day Campaign theme is #Reimaginemanhood.  It asks men what kind of legacy they want to leave.  By fostering a positive image of manhood and masculinity, we believe we can prevent and end domestic and sexual violence.  Check out the Public Service Announcement we created with Press Pass TV.

Find out how you can get involved and be part of the solution!

Jane Doe Inc. in collaboration with our member program The Network/La Red has created the "I Want A World...Massachusetts" campaign to address sexual and domestic violence in the LGBQ/T (lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and transgender) communities.

What kind of world do you envision?

Share your vision through video, art, music, and poetry.  Go to the campaign website at http://iwantaworld.janedoe.org.  Look for the #IWantAWorld on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.  Help spread the word.  Join the conversation and help us shape a world free of sexual and domestic violence for everyone!
