It could be the cost of a Ring doorbell, money to take an Uber to file a restraining order, or the fees to pay for a new ID because their ex-partner destroyed theirs.

Advocates say there are a lot of costs that survivors of domestic violence face that don’t fit neatly into already established assistance programs.

“Currently, public and private funding restrictions limit how, when and for what survivors can have supported,” said Amanda Sanderson, executive director at the Resilience Center of Franklin County. “And in Western Mass., we are just dealing with fewer resources overall.”
